Blues Guitarist Sean Costello Dead At 28
This is always sad when it happens at any age, but when it happens to someone so young who had an entire career ahead of them, it's doubly tragic. :
"Blues singer/guitarist Sean Costello was found today dead in his hotel room in Atlanta, Georgia. He would have been 29 tomorrow. Cause of death is not known at present but details will posted on the Piedmont Talent website as they are revealed.
Sean had recently released his fourth CD, 'We Can Get Together' on the Delta Groove Record Label, and was a featured guitarist on the acclaimed new Nappy Brown CD 'Long Time Coming' on Blind Pig Records. A handsome young man with amazing guitar ability, a fine voice, and a strong sense of carrying forward the tradition of the blues, Sean was a rising star with a brilliant career in front of him. In a world where we sorrowfully watch so many elder statesman of the blues pass, the loss this youthful bright light is especially hard to take. Rest in peace, Sean"

Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go to Sean's family and friends at this time...RIP.

Got word through a family friend that he OD'd..sad
I have known and studied with some really hip blues players, and found Sean to be a real light on the path. A very emotive and melodic touch, and one that I looked forward to hearing so much more from.
Yeah, there is at least one news report out that suggests he OD'd in his hotel room. Damn, damn, damn. He sure was a fine blues man. Sigh.
I just met his father week before last. My daughter is bi-polar and we talked while waiting for our cars to be serviced. I called my husband because he is a "blues" man... they talked as well. He followed his music. I feel so bad for everyone that loved him. I could feel the love that his dad had for him. I hope that I do not have to live thru this fear with my daughter. I am praying for all of you.
