reporting that the Blues Foundation has posted a short story on their site saying that blues rock guitar legend Johnny Winter is starting the year 2011 drug free for the first time in many years.
According to the posting, his manager, Paul Nelson, had been slowly decreasing Winter's methadone dosage over the last three years without Johnny being aware of it. Eight months ago, the dosage of the pills finally reached zero meaning that Winter is now drug free for the first time in forty years.
Nelson's gift to the singer/guitarist for Christmas was the knowledge that he was totally free of his demons. According to the article, "Johnny could not be more amazed, happier and healthier..."
