This coming Sunday, November 21st three of the hottest bands in contemporary blues rock -Texas based Lance Lopez and Wes Jeans with Albuquerque based The Ryan McGarvey Band- will be tearing the house down as they make a very special joint appearance at Lola's Saloon on 6th Street in Ft Worth, Texas. An all ages event, the show, which promises to be one of the best of 2010 starts at 9:00 PM.
Lance Lopez has garnered a fervent international following over the course of the past decade due to his awe inspiring guitar work, which has earned accolades from such legends as ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, B.B. King and British guitar god Jeff Beck, who has called him "A very exciting and intense blues guitarist". His latest album, the Jim Gaines (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Santana) produced 'Salvation From Sundown' was just released November 9th and is already receiving rave critical reviews.
Wes Jeans, from Marshall, Texas ranks as one of the "Top Young Gun Guitar Players". In late 2003, Guitar Player Magazine took a poll and readers voted him #3 among the “Young Gun Guitar Players” in the nation between Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, which was published in March 2004. His latest CD, the Lance Lopez produced 'Live At Music City Texas', recorded at a sold out show in Linden, Texas on January 17, 2009 features the live raw stage power the guitarist has become known for throughout his career.
Headlining the show and making his first Dallas/Ft Worth appearance is fast rising Albuquerque, New Mexico based guitarist Ryan McGarvey. The 24 year old has been wowing crowds throughout the Southwest the past several years due to his jaw dropping live performances which reflect a deep senses of blues tradition melded with pure rock power. Earlier this year, despite entering late he beat out over 4500 hopefuls as he was chosen as the winner of Ernie Ball's 'Play Crossroads' contest, allowing him to perform what was an extremely well received set June 26th at Eric Clapton's 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Toyota Park at Bridgeview, Illinois.
In September of this year he performed onstage with bassist extraordinaire Tony Franklin (The Firm, Blue Murder, David Gilmour) and drummer Chris Frazier (Whitesnake, Edgar Winter, Eddie Money) on the bill, headlined by Derek Trucks and blues legend Honeyboy Edwards at Guitar Center's 2010 King Of The Blues Competition at the House Of Blues in Hollywood, California. He currently is at work on the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2007 debut release 'Forward In Reverse'.
