Delusional Def Leppard Frontman Joe Elliott Believes His Band Better Than The Beatles, Rolling Stones Or The Who

Rock Radio is reporting that Joe Elliott has spoken once again about the media feud that broke out between Def Leppard and Poison last year, before the bands cleared the air and went on tour together.

The singer explains that when he said Def Leppard were better than Poison, he didn't mean Poison literally – and that, as a member of Def Lep, he's entitled to think his band is better than everyone.

Taking a break from the US trek with Poison and Cheap Trick, Elliott says: "I didn't say their music had no substance. I said ours had more. My belief is that we're better than them. But I would say that about any band, whether it be The Who or the Stones or the Beatles. Not because I'm an arrogant idiot – but because when you're in a band, you are absolutely 100 percent allowed to believe you're the best band in the world.

I watched the full interview with Joe Elliott, and he did not say that he 'thinks Def Leppard is better than the Beatles, Rolling Stones, or The Who' as your title implies. He was simply saying that IF he wants to say that his band is better than another band, he has the right to believe so because he's in the band. He was saying this to clarify that he has no hard feelings toward Poison, and that if Bret Michaels said Poison was better than Def Leppard, Michaels would have the right to say that, because it's his band.

I have seen Def leppard twice, once on the X tour and once with Tesla in Kissimee, Fl. Both times the band sounded great but Joe's voice was cracking and he couldnt even sing, the audience sang the songs mostly. I have seen Poison 3 times. And they always out-perform their openers, including Cinderella which is hard to do. Bret has retained his voice and Joe hasnt. I know this is a personal opinion but I have met both bands backstage and Bret and the whole Poison crew was modest and down to Earth, Def Leppard on the other hand was somewhat to good for their fans, a tipical UK attitude in the US. I will say that Rick Allen drummer for Leppard is a very humble and easy to talk to kinda guy, (success didn't go to his head). Personal opinion and of many others that has seen this tour with Poison and Cheap Trick have repeatably said that Def Leppard should have opened for Poison, that once again Joe cant sing the songs that he did so well in the past. Dont get me wrong I love Def Leppards music, but will not pay anymore to see a performance that is outdone by garage bands. And furthermore When musicians start saying their better than the people who open for them reguardless of who or how much success, they show how their own success has made them lose thereself along the way to the top of the Im better than you club for douches. All in all they are both great bands and I hope Joe finds his voice and his humble side again.
