Blackmore's Night Debuts At #1 On Billboard's New Age Chart With New Album
Blackmore's Night's new album, Secret Voyage, has entered Billboard's New Age Charts in the US at #1. Click here for details.
Secret Voyage entered the German top albums chart at #14 and the Finnish charts at #38 in the middle of July The album will be released by SPV in North America on August 19th. The band features the legendary Ritchie Blackmore (ex-DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW) and Candice Night. Other members of the band include Bard David of Larchmont (keyboards/vocals), Earl Grey of Chimay (bass/rhythm guitar/vocals), Squire Malcolm of Lumley (percussionist), and Gypsy Rose (violin/vocals).
“With Blackmore’s Night,” says Blackmore in a recent press release, “we have the creative freedom to play any style of music we want. We can play folk, rock, ballads, instrumentals, or tavern songs. I couldn't do that in Deep Purple. Now I feel as if I'm not in a box anymore. ”
While you wait for the album to be released here in the States, here's Mr. Blackmore doing things which would most certainly not get him on the top of the Billboard New Age Charts, namely destroying his Strat, attacking the cameraman and causing all sort of mayhem at the California Jam in 1974 with Deep Purple.
