After the demise of Montrose in 1978, and after releasing a solo album 'Open Fire', guitar genius Ronnie Montrose formed yet another hard rock band Gamma, with Scottish born vocalist Davy Pattison and fellow Montrose cohorts, drummer Denny Carmassi, bassist Alan Fitzgerald and keyboardist Jim Alcivar.
Releasing 3 albums of tasty melodic rock before disbanding, although they weren't perfect, the band still put down some solid rock featuring soulful vocals and stunning guitar work. A prime example being this stand out track from their 1980 second effort 'Gamma 2', "Voyager":
