On February 22, 2010 via MVD Entertainment, an archival show by legendary drummer Ginger Baker's post Cream band Baker Gurvitz Army, 'Baker Gurvitz Army - Live 1975' will be released on DVD in the U.S.
The Baker Gurvitz Army came into existence when former Gun and Three Man Army members Paul and Adrian Gurvitz joined forces with Baker in 1974.
The Baker Gurvitz Army was the first real musical project for Baker since the short-lived band Salt in 1972 and Ginger Baker's Airforce some two years prior to that. This live recording was filmed in a German television studio in early February 1975 for broadcast. The band were at that time promoting their second album 'Elysian Encounter'.
The total playing time of the studio based film runs to over sixty minutes and follows the band's set list of the period drawing on tracks from both of their then available albums, the self titled 'Baker Gurvitz Army' and 'Elysian Encounter'.
