Drum legend Richie Hayward, a founding member of Little Feat, passed away today, August 12th due to complications from liver cancer. He was 64 years old.
In addition to his forty plus years in Little Feat, throughout the years Hayward recorded and performed with a virtual "who's who" of rock, blues and jazz artists, including Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, Ry Cooder, James Cotton, Peter Frampton, Jonny Lang, Nils Lofgren, Taj Mahal, Bob Seger, Stephen Stills, Tom Waits,Warren Zevon and many others.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Richie's family, friends and fans at this time.

Sad news. What a groovin' drummer he was. In addition to all the Feat stuff, Hayward really blew me away on Robert Plant's "Shaken 'n Stirred" album.
RIP to a great musician.
