KRON TV 4 in San Francisco is reporting that members of Neil Young's entourage are assessing the damage after fire swept through a San Carlos, California warehouse today containing the classic rock star's property.
Firefighters say they've managed to save about 70% of the property inside the storage space on Quarry Road in San Carlos. Still, officials say they believe at least two of Young's six vintage cars were destroyed.
"A lot of the belongings have been saved, but there was still a lot of damage done," Belmont-San Carlos Fire Marshal Jim Palisi said.
Authorities say the warehouse also contained dozens of boxes of memorabilia including guitars and paintings belonging to the La Honda resident.
Officials say Young has been notified about the fire.
Authorities are placing the damage to the contents at $750,000 although some of the property may be irreplaceable.
