Band You Should Know : UK Classic Power Trio The Brew

Hailing from Grimsby, England power trio The Brew have been electrifying audiences throughout Europe in recent years with their heavy blues inspired classic rock.

Influenced by such 60's/70's heavyweights as Led Zeppelin, The Who and Hendrix, the band, consisting of father/son duo Tim and Kurtis Smith (bass and drums respectively) and lead guitarist/vocalist Jason Barwick have been gaining fans and raves from such sources as BBC Radio 1, inspiring them to exclaim,“The power of this trio has to be seen to be believed".

That power comes through loud and clear on their impressive third full length offering, 2010's 'A Million Dead Stars'(Jazzhouse), which offers a vibrant, fresh take while still being respectful to their influences.

Featuring Bonham-esque drumming and Jack Bruce like bass work by the Smiths, and Hendrix by way of Jimmy Page styled pyrotechnics courtesy of 21 year old guitar hero- in- the- making Barwick, wrapped in classic songwriting, the album's eleven tracks are filled with the kind of riff rock which will make any devotee of the genre sit up and take notice.
