The Allman Brothers Band Schedule Trio Of Boston Dates

Billboard.com is reporting that The Allman Brothers Band is coming back sooner rather than later.

The group has announced a trio of shows Nov. 18-20 at Boston's Orpheum Theatre, as part of "an East coast intimate theatre tour of Evening With shows." Tickets for the Boston shows go on sale Aug. 12, while more "select shows" are expected to be announced soon.

Gregg Allman, whose June 23 liver transplant forced the Allmans to cancel a planned appearance at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival three days later in Chicago, said in a statement, "I'm ready. I've been itching to play since I got the operation and am glad to be back. Can't thank everyone enough for their help and support."

Guitarist Warren Haynes, meanwhile, tells Billboard.com that the other Allman Brothers members are happy Allman was able to get the much-needed transplant, but that it's too early to determine what it will mean for the group in the long-term.

"It's really hard to say," says Haynes, who is currently touring with Gov't Mule. "I know (Allman) personally feels like he's got a new lease on life. He's healing up and feeling better...Depending on the day you talk to him, he's already talking about getting back on the road. I think he has a lot of things that he wants to pursue himself, with his own band and projects and stuff. And even before this situation, the band was looking forward to winding down the schedule a little bit. So we'll see."
