The Zappa Family Trust are releasing a new archival Frank Zappa work on May 1st, titled Greasy Love Songs, which is an expanded edition of the Cruising with Ruben and the Jets album from 1968.It’s to be a parody and tribute to the doo-wop music Zappa grew up on, and the album is being described as “a collision of high and low art, with Stravinky-style chord changes and unusual tempos applied to purposely trite and banal teenage pop love songs.”
The new CD, due out May 1 on Zappa Records is to feature the original vinyl mix, previously unreleased on CD, plus bonus material.
