Paul McCartney To Quit Touring At 70

Paul McCartney is preparing for one final farewell tour.

Reports are suggesting that the former Beatle is set to anounce dates.

Gossip in the weekend newspapers point in this direction with The Sunday Mail claiming the former Beatle is to play Hampden Park in Glasgow which would be his first Scotish return Scotland in nearly twenty years.

This would all be part of the farewell to live performance, which will take place right up until his 70th birthday in June 2012.

"Paul has always loved playing in Glasgow since his early days with the Beatles," an "insider" told the paper. "He has a great affection for Scotland and his home in Mull of Kintyre in particular."

"The Hampden show will spark off many emotion and memories for him. It will be one of his greatest gigs ever."

Further details of McCartney's mooted "farewell tour" are expected to be released in the next couple of days.

Initial dates are:

Sunday 13 June - Isle Of Wight Festival
Sunday 20 June - Hampden Park, Glasgow
Saturday 26 June - Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
Sunday 27 June - Hyde Park Calling, London
