
Planet Rock is reporting that The Rolling Stones have been named as the top touring act of the past decade, earning the best part of a billion dollars over 264 concerts.
Billboard reports that the Stones raked in a gross revenue of $869.5 million and pulled in more than 8 million fans across 264 concerts.
U2 followed closely with $844.2 million, with Madonna ($801.3 million), Bruce Springsteen ($688.1 million), and Elton John ($603.8 million) rounding out the top five.
Bon Jovi, Metallica, Eagles and Aerosmith all appear in the top 25.
U2 also topped Billboard's 2009 top tours list with $311.6 million in gross revenue and concert attendance of more than 3 million. Trailing U2 was Madonna ($222 million), Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band ($156.3 million), AC/DC ($135.3 million), and Pink ($102.9 million).

Hey thanks, this was interesting. I think (not considering money earned) Bruce should have been on the top of this list followed by U2 :)
