See You On The Dark Side Of The...Courtroom? Pink Floyd Sue EMI Records

Pink Floyd is the latest act to ask a record company to "please explain".

The band had reportedly filed a lawsuit against EMI over unpaid royalties.

The band, who signed to the label in 1967, are claiming that they are yet to receive royalties for sales of their back catalog.

The dispute is reported to have arisen during routine three-year negotiations with new owners Terra Firma, a private equity firm.

Terra Firma, who purchased the record company in 2007 for £4 billion and have since attempted to cut costs, is also blamed for the departure of acts including Radiohead and Paul McCartney.

EMI and Pink Floyd are yet to release a statement.
