According to a posting on his his official web site, legendary rock guitarist Robin Trower will be releasing a new studio album, 'What Lies Beneath', due out July 14th. Consisting of 11 tracks, produced by Livingston Brown, the album features Trower on all vocals, and "develops a new vision for Robin Trower music, very different from the band".
The package will also include a day-by-day diary of the creation and recording of the CD. Although the official release date is set for July, there will be pre-release copies available from the website in early May to coincide with the start of his U.S. tour, which commences May 11th in Spokane, Washington. There will also be copies of the album available for sale at the shows.
In other Trower related news, founding Robin Trower Band drummer Reg Isadore passed away on March 22 of a heart attack. The drummer, who played on the first two classic albums by the band, 'Twice Removed From Yesterday' and 'Bridge Of Sighs' also was part of the lineup for 'Truce', the 1980 album with Jack Bruce. Isadore, who also played with Peter Green and the late Richard Wright of Pink Floyd was 59.
