To celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2009, SPV records will be re-releasing 4 classic Savatage records on vinyl LP this spring. Look for Hall of the Mountain King on March 2 (March 24 in the USA), Gutter Ballet on March 30 (March 24 in the USA), Streets on April 27, and Power of the Night on June 2.
Founded by the brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in 1978, the long running band has been inactive since the release of its last album, 'Poets & Madmen' in 2001, and have not performed live together since 2002. Instead they concentrate on their more commercially successful side project, Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Guitarist Criss Oliva was tragically killed by a drunk driver on October 17, 1993. Vocalist Jon Oliva has also been active with Jon Oliva's Pain, releasing 3 albums since 2003.
