Classic Track Of The Week : Golden Earring "Vanilla Queen"

The most famous of all Dutch rock bands, Holland's Golden Earring are most well known for their 2 hits, 1973's road driving classic "Radar Love" and the 1982 MTV era staple "Twilight Zone". However, this long running collective has put out an extremely impressive catalog of albums in a career which began BEFORE The Beatles as The Golden Earrings in 1961, and amazingly are celebrating their 47th year as a performing unit, having had the same unchanged line-up of the same four musicians since 1970, and are currently recording a new studio album, due for release at the end of 2008-early 2009.

A prime example of their prowess as a live attraction is this 11 plus minute version of "Vanilla Queen," recorded live at San Francisco's Winterland, April 25, 1973, the studio version of which can be found on the band's classic 'Moontan' album .
