Rising Irish classic hard rockers The Answer have finally signed a deal in America. They have teamed up with Brooklyn label THE END Records. The first release under this new deal will be an EP which will be released on November 11th this year. It will have "Never Too Late" from the 'Rise' sessions on it, to tie in with the track being featured on 'Guitar Hero: World Tour' which comes out this autumn. The EP will also feature a brand new song "Highwater Or Hell" which is from the second album session the band did in Los Angeles recently. It was produced by John Travis and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica). The other two tracks are "The Doctor" and "Come Follow Me" ( Live from Japan ). The EP will also come with an hour long bonus DVD which outlines the band's story through the 'Rise' campaign in Europe and Asia. It will have interviews and unseen footage along with most of the promos the band made for the first album. The band's upcoming full length album is scheduled for release via THE END in 2009.
The Answer's gargantuan sound has often been compared to Led Zeppelin and Free, and they have already opened stadium shows in Europe for acts including the Rolling Stones, the Who and Aerosmith. The band has also headlined tours in the U.K., Europe, Japan and Australia, and their first album 'Rise' met with major fan and critical success in all the aforementioned locales. Pre-eminent U.K. hard rock arbiter Classic Rock Magazine -- who named The Answer 2005's Best New UK Band -- have called them, "The biggest new rock band of the decade."
In other band news, The Answer have been tapped as the opening act for the imminent North American leg of AC/DC's Black Ice World tour.The tour runs between the 28th October to the 31st of January, with highlights including dates at New York's Madison Square Garden on November 12th and 13th, and two shows at The Forum in Los Angeles on December the 6th and 8th. Prior to the AC/DC shows The Answer will be performing their New York debut at a CMJ show at The Crash Mansion on October 25th. http://www.theanswer.ie/home.html
