Roger Waters Looking For Missing Inflatable Pig
Coachella organizers are offering $10,000 and four (4) festival tickets for life in exchange for the safe return of the two-story inflatable pig that broke loose during Roger Waters' set on the final night (Sunday, April 27) of the 2008 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The pig escaped and floated into the desert sky just prior to the intermission between Roger Waters’ back-to-back sets--marking the only back-to-back Coachella sets by one artist in the critically acclaimed festival’s history.
Anyone with information on the lost pig, should email lostpig@coachella.com.
UPDATE : It appears that at least part of said pig may have been found, albeit in not too good shape :
April 29, 2008 - The Desert Sun -
"A La Quinta couple say they have found the pig that broke loose while flying over
Roger Waters' closing performance this weekend -- at least part of it.
Susan Stolz called The Desert Sun this morning saying she and her husband found a glob of vinyl in their driveway yesterday. Not sure what it was, they threw it away. This morning, they read about the missing pig in the paper and e-mailed the following to Coachella organizers.
"It is entirely possible that I have at least part of your pig. My husband and I live at the Hideaway. We found a large pile of plastic yesterday morning on our driveway. It has some blue, yellow and silver paint. I must warn you that it is not in good shape. Maybe the balloon exploded or something. However, if you'd like to check it out, just let me know. "
"We went and got the pig out of the trash and put him in the garage," Stolz said. "We have laughed our heads off."
We of course here at Nightwatcher's House Of Rock will keep you up to date on any developments in this fast moving story....
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the pig has been recovered, shredded a bit, in La Quinta, California :
