The Who's 'Maximum R&B' DVD Reissue To Hit Stores April 14th

The Who's 'Maximum R & B DVD' has been out of print for some time now. So news of a reissue, due out April 14th via Universal, will bring a smile to many a Who fan. Probably an even bigger one because the set will also include an extra DVD featuring a previously unreleased concert from 1981.

The most sought after collection of their greatest live performances, spanning 30 years of their frenzied peak, re-issued with previously unreleased material. The main feature has been re-edited with 3 bonus performances and additional interviews plus the package now includes a bonus disc of the entire never-before-seen concert from Rockpalast, Germany, 1981. Presented for the first time in digital 5.1 surround sound and restored visual clarity.

This 2 DVD set features digital 5.1 surround sound, newly restored picture, and runs nearly three hours. DVD #1 omits 3 songs from the Who's 1970 Tanglewood, Massachusetts appearance and features substitution cuts from the band's 1969 London Coliseum and 1977 Kilburn shows -- as well as a previously unreleased performance of 'Won't Get Fooled Again' from Shea Stadium from 1982. DVD #2 features the band on the Face Dances tour caught live on March 28, 1981 in Essen, Germany. Included is footage from the Richmond Blues & Jazz Festival, 1965, Marquee Club, 1967, Monterey Pop Festival, 1967, London Coliseum, 1969, Isle Of Wight Festival, 1970, Amsterdam, 1972, Charlton Football Club, 1974 and more.
