Featuring a majestic, 70's inspired stoner rock vibe which blends early Black Sabbath styled riffs with the more progressive sounds of The Beatles and Pink Floyd, over the course of 3 long players and a couple of EP's, Los Angeles based rockers Bigelf have solidified themselves as one of the leading lights of heavy rock in the present age. Also, one you most likely have never heard, as amazingly for a Californian band, up until the re-issue of their latest masterpiece, 'Hex', all were only released in Europe, with the aforementioned actually reaching the Top 5 in the Swedish album charts. If the description above sounds your cup of tea (or anything else for that matter), do not hesitate to purchase any of the albums, with their latest then working your way backwards. Yes, they're THAT good. For a taste of what to expect, check out this video for "Madhatter", one of the many stand out tracks from 'Hex' :
Coachella organizers are offering $10,000 and four (4) festival tickets for life in exchange for the safe return of the two-story inflatable pig that broke loose during Roger Waters' set on the final night (Sunday, April 27) of the 2008 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The pig escaped and floated into the desert sky just prior to the intermission between Roger Waters’ back-to-back sets--marking the only back-to-back Coachella sets by one artist in the critically acclaimed festival’s history.
UPDATE : It appears that at least part of said pig may have been found, albeit in not too good shape :
April 29, 2008 - The Desert Sun -
"A La Quinta couple say they have found the pig that broke loose while flying over Roger Waters' closing performance this weekend -- at least part of it.
Susan Stolz called The Desert Sun this morning saying she and her husband found a glob of vinyl in their driveway yesterday. Not sure what it was, they threw it away. This morning, they read about the missing pig in the paper and e-mailed the following to Coachella organizers.
"It is entirely possible that I have at least part of your pig. My husband and I live at the Hideaway. We found a large pile of plastic yesterday morning on our driveway. It has some blue, yellow and silver paint. I must warn you that it is not in good shape. Maybe the balloon exploded or something. However, if you'd like to check it out, just let me know. "
"We went and got the pig out of the trash and put him in the garage," Stolz said. "We have laughed our heads off."
We of course here at Nightwatcher's House Of Rock will keep you up to date on any developments in this fast moving story....
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the pig has been recovered, shredded a bit, in La Quinta, California :
New London, Connecticut - When the lights go up, the hum of the endless road is lost to the unmistakable strains of those twin-lead guitars and the cheers of the crowd. Life on the road has seduced Andy Powell and Wishbone Ash for 39 years. The band is in the midst of a six-month tour to promote two releases: 'The Power of Eternity', a studio recording featuring the current lineup; and a DVD and double-live CD soundtrack, Wishbone Ash Live in Hamburg, recorded in 2007 at Germany's famed club,The Fabrik.
Dubbed the "Eternity Tour," it has brought the band to many familiar stomping grounds in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. The upcoming leg of the U.S. tour begins on May 4 at the Rites of Spring prog-rock festival in Phoenixville, PA. Other dates include a live performance from the XM Satellite studio in Washington, D.C. and an encore appearance at the Ramshead Tavern in Annapolis, MD, before the group heads West to Las Vegas, California and the Pacific Northwest, finishing with a stop in Vancouver.
The lineup of twin axemen Andy Powell and Muddy Manninen, bassist Bob Skeat and drummer Joe Crabtree will deliver performances chock-full of current and future classics, including tracks from The Power of Eternity, released in the United Kingdom on Talking Elephant Records and worldwide through Sanctuary Records. Recently, Talking Elephant released two compilations from its Wishbone Ash catalog: 'Tough,' showcasing the rocking side of the band; and 'Tender, featuring mellow tunes for when it's time to unwind.
Wishbone Ash Live in Hamburg is the band's ultimate video performance to date. The DVD clocks in at more than two hours of concert performance, plus an extensive interview with founding member Andy Powell joined by Muddy Manninen.
Formed in October 1969, Wishbone Ash was gigging by 1970. The band garnered notice in the early days for a unique blend of blues, jazz and English folk. But it was the way the guitars played melodic leads together that would become Wishbone Ash's trademark, inspiring such bands as Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden. Throughout the years, many notable musicians have contributed their talents to the band, including Asia's John Wetton, Trevor Bolder from David Bowie's Spiders From Mars and Uriah Heep, and Laurie Wisefield, who would later play guitar for Joe Cocker and Tina Turner.
Wishbone Ash has released nearly 40 albums and six DVDs, performed on five continents, and received worldwide acclaim. The band regularly plays more than 150 shows a year, delivering the goods to an ever-growing number of appreciative fans of all ages.
AC/DC has finished recording its new album and is currently mixing the effort for a late 2008 release, the group's vocalist Brian Johnson revealed during an interview with Washington D.C.'s DC 101 radio station.
Johnson has apparently left the studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where AC/DC guitarist Angus and Malcolm Young have remained with producers Mike Fraser and Brendan O'Brien in order to complete work on the CD.
Brian also stated that the band will next work on getting the artwork done and take care of the promotional activities in connection with the release, to be followed by a tour. For more info go to http://www.acdc.com/
Days Between Stations Days Between Stations Bright Orange Records
Review by Nightwatcher
Hailing from Los Angeles, California, progressive rock band Days Between Stations on their debut album have created a sprawling prog rock epic which recalls pre 'Dark Side Of The Moon' Pink Floyd in its sound, experimentation and spirit. Consisting of largely instrumental compositions, this is one for the truly progressive minded music fan, full of long, spacey soundscapes which draw the listener in, as such one of the most impressive of this sort released in recent memory.
Consisting of guitarist Sepano Sanzaden and keyboardist Oscar Fuentes, augmented by a host of additional musicians, this isn't for the pop music inclined music fan. With tracks spanning over 20 minutes, in this ADD addled generation who want instant gratification in all things, there's going to be a large percentage of the population who simply won't have the patience to fully appreciate this. But, that's their loss. For in not giving this album a chance in favor of commercial tripe, they're missing out on a piece of pure art. True, the band have included a short track "Radio Song", with its upbeat rhythms and catchy melody featuring a Vocodor not unlike Anathema's "Closer" clearly their only concession to airplay, this is clearly a band who want to be taken at their own terms, preferring to do things their own way rather than conform to what may or may not be a hit.
Although the band bristles slightly at The Floydian comparisons, the inclusion of a female vocalist simply monikered "Hollie" wailing somewhat orgasmically ala "The Great Gig In The Sky" on "Either/Or" only serves to draw in such parallels. Throw in the fact that guitarist Sanzaden sounds similar to a young David Gilmour in tone and phrasing, and it just reinforces the similarities. While not a Pink Floyd clone by any means, still, with that band in limbo, and even if they were to reunite they certainly wouldn't return to give more of what transpired before their massive world wide fame, this is as close to that style that one is likely to find. Very cinematic at times, atmospheric, full of haunting melodies and well thought out instrumentation, if you're one who longs for the free thinking days of the golden era of progressive music you're sure to find much to enjoy here. http://www.daysbetweenstations.com/http://www.myspace.com/daysbetweenstationsband
Imagine an alternative universe where Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac would've come out of his acid daze, formed a band with Dickie Peterson and Paul Whaley of Blue Cheer, and you might come close to approximating the sound put down on the debut self titled release from Ames, Iowa's Radio Moscow. A blues drenched, wah filled slab of late 60's, early 70's sludge rock, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, this album will conjure up flashbacks of lysergic fueled, extended guitar filled frenzied jam sessions when rockers weren't afraid to solo. And if one weren't enough, they'd take another just for the hell of it.
Led by 23 year old guitarist Parker Griggs, an unapologetic disciple of Green's whose influences obviously include the young Eric Clapton in Cream, the aforementioned Blue Cheer, Grand Funk Railroad, and any other power trio who got the idea to take the blues and crank the amps up to 11, this is heavy blues influenced psych where solos rule supreme. Launching off into the skies with "Introduction", a ferocious short instrumental wah guitar workout which almost sounds like something a pre Ian Gillan era Deep Purple might've come up with minus Jon Lord's keyboards, right away you're served notice this isn't going to be a polite blues rock album, After melting your mind with searing guitar, the band immediately segues into a groove on "Frustrating Sound". With chordal work remindful in tone of Cream, Griggs takes a journey back in time and space, melding the Missisippi delta with the late 60's counterculture. Sounding somewhat like something a British blues band would've done mixed with searing guitar, it's quite the one-two punch and is a great start to the album.
Along the way, you'll hear bits and pieces of Griggs' influences - a bit of early Zeppelin era Jimmy Page here, some MC5 there, all blending into one of the most promising debuts of the genre in recent memory. "Deep Blue Sea", co witten with and featuring a contribution on slide guitar courtesy of producer Auerbach takes The Key's rudimentary blues rock and amps it up, and is yet another highlight on display here.
Throughout the entire 37 minute length of the album, with the exception of the raga influenced "Ordovician Fauna", you'll be treated to molten fretwork in the pre-punk tradition, with almost all the songs, which include two instrumentals, both of which showcase Griggs' quite impressive playing skills, not only on guitar, but on drums as well. The only misstep on the album being the previously mentioned "Ordovician Fauna", its droning chords seemingly out of place amongst all the white hot blues heavy boogie rock put down. Trippy and suitably authentically retro, this shows that Parker Griggs has emerged onto the scene as one of the most promising young guitarists who might be the new guitar gods of the new millennium. Much more guitar intensive than The Black Keys, if you're into the heavy sounds of the late 60's and early 70's, you should grab this one as soon as possible. http://www.myspace.com/radiomoscow http://www.alivenergy.com/Radio_Moscow.html

Congratulations are in order to Joe Bonamassa, who for the second year in a row, has been voted by the readers of Guitar Player Magazine in their annual readers poll as 'Best Blues Guitarist 2008'. In other related news pertaining to Mr. Bonamassa, recently the guitarist performed in The Kingdom Of Bahrain at the request of the Crown Prince, where he met up with none other than 'Slowhand' himself, Eric Clapton, who told him how much he loved his past two albums.
Add in the fact that this talented musician is scheduled to play London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall on April 27th, 2009, and it looks as if the world as a whole is finally taking note of arguably the finest guitarist of his generation. Are you listening Rolling Stone?
This is always sad when it happens at any age, but when it happens to someone so young who had an entire career ahead of them, it's doubly tragic. :
"Blues singer/guitarist Sean Costello was found today dead in his hotel room in Atlanta, Georgia. He would have been 29 tomorrow. Cause of death is not known at present but details will posted on the Piedmont Talent website as they are revealed.
Sean had recently released his fourth CD, 'We Can Get Together' on the Delta Groove Record Label, and was a featured guitarist on the acclaimed new Nappy Brown CD 'Long Time Coming' on Blind Pig Records. A handsome young man with amazing guitar ability, a fine voice, and a strong sense of carrying forward the tradition of the blues, Sean was a rising star with a brilliant career in front of him. In a world where we sorrowfully watch so many elder statesman of the blues pass, the loss this youthful bright light is especially hard to take. Rest in peace, Sean"
According to The Pulse of Radio, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones are featured in the new issue of Uncut reflecting on Led Zeppelin's long history and what lies ahead for them as a band.
Robert Plant, who is widely viewed as the lone hold out on agreeing to a full scale Zeppelin tour, was asked if he felt the success of the band's performance last December at London's O2 Arena was enough of a victory to permanently ice any future work with the band. Plant said, "Not at all. I really enjoyed it. And hopefully, one day we could do it again for another really, really good reason... For people who came from Australia or Japan, to Jason (Bonham's) family, John's family, all the families — anticipation and expectation was huge. The potential for failure was also great because nobody knew what it was going to be like."
Plant went on to reflect on the O2 show saying, "We did what we set out to do and more, in every respect. We showed people that Led Zeppelin did go on a bit... The interplay between us all was excellent."
John Paul Jones, who has said that he, like Page and Bonham, would like the band to hit the road, reflected on the reunion gig, saying, "It felt like the first night of a tour. You think, 'Oh, I could do that bit better, or change something in that song.' And we didn't get a chance to do any more."
When pressed about the prospects of a Led Zeppelin reunion album, Jones said, "I'm not too certain about anything at the moment. I've got no idea what's going to happen, but I'd certainly like to play with Jimmy again."
Details have been released about a pair of Toronto tribute concerts to honor Canadian guitar great Jeff Healey, who died March 2 of cancer.
Guitarists Randy Bachman (BTO, The Guess Who) and Colin James and singers David Wilcox and Alannah Myles ("Black Velvet") are among the artists who will participate, Healey's wife, Cristie, announced Wednesday.
Healey's backup band The Jazz Wizards will open the first tribute concert May 3.
Cream vocalist and bass player Jack Bruce and Deep Purple's Ian Gillan also will appear during an evening that will focus on Healey's contribution to rock.
The second event, to be held May 4, will be for lovers of Healey's jazz career and include artists such as Marty Grosz, Brad Kay and Vince Giordano.
Proceeds from the shows will go to the Healey Family Trust and to Daisy's Eye Cancer Fund, a charity that assists the families ofchildren with retinoblastoma, the rare cancer that claimed Healey's sight when he was one year old.
"The shows will provide a great way for his friends and fans to pay tribute to his memory, and support a cause that was so very important to Jeff," Cristie Healey said in a statement.
"This has been a great reminder for Jeff's family and close circle of friends of how many people were touched by Jeff and his music," she added. "I think we have assembled an incredible collection of talent, and created two shows that Jeff would love."
Healey played guitar, trombone, trumpet and keyboard. He began his career as a blues-rock artist and later returned to his early love, jazz. He was 41 when he died.
Tickets for both events go on sale Friday in Toronto.
Back Door Slam The Ryan McGarvey Band The Santa Fe Brewing Company Santa Fe, New Mexico April 5, 2008
Concert Review by Nightwatcher
The future of blues rock guitar was represented in full force as UK bluesers Back Door Slam, riding high on the success of their debut album 'Roll Away', currently # 5 on Billboard's Blues Charts, stormed into the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Supported by Albuquerque natives The Ryan McGarvey Band, fronted by Ryan McGarvey, recently tapped by Guitar Player Magazine online as one of the top guitarists seen at SXSW 2008, this was a true tour de force of blazing axework courtesy of two of the most exciting young players in the business these days.
First up was The Ryan McGarvey Band, who blazed through a smoking hot set of heavy blues infused with a classic rock sensibility filled with some of the best guitar work available west of the Mississippi. Or east, for that matter. Playing selections from their superb 'Forward In Reverse' debut, by the end of the nearly one hour set it was quite evident once again that McGarvey is certainly one of the cream of the crop of young blues influenced players.
From the opening strains of harp which heralded set starter "Right In All The Wrong Ways", to the rousing encore of ZZ Top's "Brown Sugar", it was yet another affirmation that given the path he's on, big things are certainly headed his way. Supported admirably by bassist Kevin Kraybill and drummer K.C. White, these three work as a well oiled machine - tight and slick, the dependable, solid rhythm put down by the aforementioned two allow McGarvey to soar, weaving in and out of the sound with an incredible tapestry of fiery guitar pyrotechnics. I've been following this band for the past several years, and it's been an honor to see just how far they've developed since, and continue to do so. Only 21, it's staggering to think that as good of a player McGarvey is now, where he'll be in 3, 5..10 years time. Bottom line is, if this band comes to your area, do not hesitate to go out and see them, as you'll leave astonished, mark my words.
The same can be said about Back Door Slam guitarist/vocalist Davy Knowles, who has been rightly garnering attention from some of the most prestigious publications throughout the world. At only 20 years old, he's already been compared to Cream era Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. Called "A guitar god in training" by the L.A. Times, this is one player who has also progressed far beyond his relatively young age.
Possessing a confidence and poise clearly right from the opening song, a stellar cover of "Outside Woman Blues", made popular back in the late 60's by Cream, it was the first of many highlights throughout their 80 minute set. Showcasing tracks from the band's debut, fresh from appearing on the nationally broadcast ABC TV late night show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', where they were the recipient of the only standing ovation from the crowd in the show's five year run, this is a trio of musicians who are seemingly on the fast track to massive fame.
While the focus has been on Knowles' playing, it has to be said that as technically accomplished he is on the instrument, special note has to be given to his vocal abilities, which are amazing for someone so young. Reminiscent of soulful vocalists such as the late James Dewar of Robin Trower, full of deep soul and power, it's an instrument on equal footing. Coaxing a variety of classic tones from his Lake Placid Blue Strat while simultaneously summoning up the spirit of the finest blues based rock singers, all the accolades being bestowed upon him are well deserved. Providing rock solid backing, bassist Adam Jones and drummer Ross Doyle combine to form a formidable rhythm section, without whom Knowles wouldn't be able to shine as brightly, and rightly can be considered the band's secret weapon.
Serving up original selections alongside outstanding covers such as CSNY's "Almost Cut My Hair" and finishing up with an encore, featuring Knowles on mandolin, of the late, great Rory Gallagher's classic "Going To My Hometown", by the time of conclusion they had the packed crowd in the palm of their collective hands. I'm sure they could've played on to appreciation long into the night, but as it is, it was quite apparent that once again, they left another crowd off into the night raving about what they'd just seen. As it has been throughout their various treks across the U.S. and abroad. All in all a fantastic time was had by all, as will be anyone who ventures out to see either of these bands live. Do it now, while tickets are relatively inexpensive, as they won't be for long, that's for sure. If you've never seen this band live, and have only heard their debut disc, you're only getting half the story. Get the whole story and be part of history in the making.
Back Door Slam performing "Gotta Leave", live at The Santa Fe Brewing Company, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 04 -05 -2008
Last night (Saturday) I had the extreme pleasure of witnessing two of the brightest young shining lights in the world of blues rock when UK blues rockers Back Door Slam, featuring guitarist Davy Knowles, rolled into Santa Fe, New Mexico in support of their stunning debut album 'Roll Away', which is currently # 5 on the Billboard Blues Charts. And opening up for the band was none other than Ryan McGarvey, who in this writer's opinion more than held his own against these hot, rising bluesers . I'll be posting a full review on this very site soon, but here's a taste of Mr. McGarvey and co. with an excerpt from "Mystic Dream", one of the many highlights on their debut release 'Forward In Reverse' :
McGarvey, who was recently mentioned in a write up at Guitar Player Magazine's online site for their coverage of SXSW 2008 as one of the hottest players they encountered at this year's extravaganza plays a red hot brand of electric blues rock which simply has to be seen to truly appreciate.
'The Newz', the first new studio album from Scottish heavy rock legends Nazareth in nearly a decade, shows these hard rockers still have some life in them, long after most have written them off. Containing 13 tracks, the album as a whole is much better than probably it should be, with vocalist Dan McCafferty still showing the whiskey soaked, gravelly pipes which were a huge influence on Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose, to be fairly intact. Even after 40 years in the biz, the band has still more than enough rock n roll grit to please long time fans and possibly bring in some new ones in the process.
If one were expecting the Nazareth of 'Hair Of The Dog', the band's 1975 classic, that would be pushing things. But what you will find is some of the finest songs put down by these grizzled vets in many a year. The lead off track, "Goin' Loco" commences with frenetic fret work before settling into a funky hard rock groove which is a fine way to start things off. Along the way we encounter more heaviness than the group has showcased on an album in ages, and more importantly, they've come up with songs which are memorable to boot. Even the ballads, such as "Enough Love" are a sight better than the band's fairly mediocre 80's output, which was unfortunately pretty unforgettable.
There's been a lot of effort put into the songwriting, musical performances and production this time around, and on what must be called the album's centerpiece, even coming towards the end, "The Gathering treads upon Zeppelin territory, with its epic, slow building climax, McCafferty sounding not a day over 30, this will prove to be a treat for all fans of hard edged classic rock. Be sure to stick around after the last track "Dying Breed" fades out, as the band has stuck on what must be the strangest composition of their long running career, the heavy, almost industrial metal sounding "The Goblin King". A parody of bad metal, you probably won't stick around for it after the first listen, but it does show that the band does still have a sense of humor.
Summing up, as this album is several cuts above their 80's pop rock based output, it arguably could be stated that this is the best studio album since 1979's 'No Mean City'. While it might not reach the heights of their peak 70's material, it's certainly close enough for rock n' roll. 8/10 http://www.nazarethdirect.co.uk/
Here we go again. A day after being given the boot by the rest of his Velvet Revolver band mates, now ex vocalist Scott Weiland has written yet another long, rambling bitch fest to MTV News slamming his former band :
"After reading the comment by Duff, Matt, Dave and the illustrious 'guitar hero,' Saul Hudson, aka Slash, I find it humorous that the so-called four 'founding members' of Velvet Revolver, better known to themselves as 'The Project' before I officially named the band, would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20 in Glasgow.
"In response to Slash's comment regarding my commitment [to the band], I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth. The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun… at times. But let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member — no need to mention his name).
"Personally speaking, I choose to look forward to the future and performing with a group of friends I have known my entire life, people who have always had my back. This also speaks to my commitment to my music and my fellow bandmates in [Stone Temple Pilots] and to the fans who I feel would much rather watch a group of musicians who enjoy being together as opposed to a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang."
In a final mysterious comment, Weiland warned fans not to be "fooled by veiled trickery" and even wished VR his best.
"Good hunting, lads," he quipped. "I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice."
If you're looking for some great new music that's not going to clean out what's left in your rapidly shrinking wallet, you can't go wrong with these free, legal downloads. First off, The Black Crowes, who recently released 'Warpaint', their first new studio album in 7 years, are offering a totally free live recording 'One Night Only' recorded on their recent club tour. Although billed as an EP, it clocks in at around 2 hours. And, it's available to the first 10,000 who register (for free once again) at http://www.liveblackcrowes.com
Next up, we have an album which too few have heard, but it's one more than worth checking out. The album is Bruce Cameron's "Midnight Daydream". Cameron was a fantastic Hendrix inspired guitarist from North Carolina who managed to have an amazing array of artists appear on this his debut released in 1999.
Notable musicians playing on the album include Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox and Buddy Miles (Jimi Hendrix), Jack Bruce (Cream), Neal Smith and Michael Bruce (The Original Alice Cooper Group), Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep), Bunk Gardner (Frank Zappa), Harvey Dalton Arnold (The Outlaws) and psych rock legend ANT-BEE.
The material runs the gamut from bluesy Hendrix/Cream styled rockers to more early Alice Cooper based material, psychedelia, even moving into Tom Petty territory. There was a big build up in the media prior to the release date, with press conferences, coverage in the official Hendrix 'Experience Hendrix' magazine etc.
Unfortunately, tragically about a month after release, Cameron passed away, but that doesn't detract from the music contained on the album. Although the album is out of print, one can download it for free in high quality Mp3 at his official web site here. If you're a fan of late 60's, early 70's heavy classic rock with excellent guitar work, this one's for you.
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Four founding members of the rock band Velvet Revolver said on Tuesday they were splitting with the group's troubled singer, Scott Weiland, citing his "increasingly erratic" behavior.
The announcement came in a terse statement from the group's management company as Weiland, 40, and his recently reunited original band, Stone Temple Pilots, were set next week to announce plans for a highly anticipated summer tour.
The Pilots, also known by their acronym, STP, already have confirmed a handful of upcoming dates, beginning with the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 17-18.
For Weiland, whose career has long been overshadowed by heroin addiction, Rock on the Range will mark his first show with STP since the band played 13 concerts to promote its last album of new material, 2001's "Shangri-La Dee Da."
Following the breakup of STP, Weiland was welcomed as lead singer for Velvet Revolver, the newly formed grunge rock band founded by three former members of Guns N' Roses -- guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum -- along with second guitarist Dave Kushner.
Velvet Revolver was confronted from the start with Weiland's drug and legal problems as it juggled performance schedules, recording sessions and promotional work to accommodate his court dates and rehab.
Last month, Weiland pleaded innocent to a charge of driving under the influence of drugs stemming from his arrest on a Los Angeles freeway ramp in November. He is free on $40,000 bail and is due back in court for a pretrial hearing on Friday.
A public feud between Weiland and Velvet Revolver's drummer already had cast doubt on the band's future when the statement on behalf of Sorum, Slash, McKagan and Kushner was issued under the headline "Velvet Revolver to Part Ways with Singer."
"This band is all about its fans and its music, and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either," Slash was quoted as saying. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on."
There was no immediate comment from Weiland, Stone Temple Pilots or their representatives.
I don't usually do this, but in the interests of artists seeking to get their work out to the largest amount of media people possible, in this case I'll make an exception. If you're in the market for a fantastic PR company, look no further than Glass Onyon PR. Run by critically acclaimed author Billy James, author or co author of numerous excellent rock bios,('A Dream Goes on Forever: The Continuing Story of Todd Rundgren', 'No More Mr Nice Guy: The Inside Story of the Alice Cooper Group' with Michael Bruce, 'An American Band: The Story of Grand Funk Railroad') this is one company you can count on to get the job done.
In this day and age it's imperative to get ones material out to the largest base possible. With all the competition you have to be heard above the throng. And that's what will be accomplished if you choose Glass Onyon. Therefore, this is one company which receives my 100% recommendation. For more info, go here
